" The curious paradox is when I accept myself just as I am then I can change"......Carl Rogers
As a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor I believe we are all individuals and we can grow, heal and be enlightened in a way and pace we choose.
My work is integrative which means I have been trained in different models of therapy which I tailor to each individual client.
I work in a non-judgemental, engaging way building a warm therapeutic relationship allowing my clients to work at a speed which is best for them.
Sessions last fifty minutes, normally weekly and are conducted from my private comfortable and peaceful therapy room in Carshalton.
Initial Consultation
The purpose of the initial consultation is for us to find out what is bringing you into counselling at this time and what you would like to gain from therapy. This first meeting whether by zoom link or face to face also gives us the opportunity to decide if we can work together.
Brief four Session Consultation
If you feel that your therapy should only be short term and you just want space to talk through difficulties you can take the option of having a brief four session consultation. This is exactly what is sounds like, four fifty minutes sessions that are a complete piece of work in themselves however should you wish to continue with therapy after undergoing these sessions this is also possible.
Goal of Therapy
One of the goals of therapy is to encourage people to take responsibility for their own actions. Your commitment is necessary for progress and it is important that you continue to come even when pain or difficulties arise. It is often the case in therapy that things seem to get worse before they get better please don't be put off by this as It is part of the process and it doesn't mean you are failing.
What does being Accredited mean?
Having an Accredited Counsellor is important, it indicates extensive training (three to four years) and also a broad clinical experience post qualifying (usually two years)
